Picture of St Matthews Church Bethnal Green - Logo

St Matthew's is a Church of England church, in the Diocese of London, and is the focus of an inclusive, living Christian community.

It is the mother church of Bethnal Green where there have been people saying their prayers and celebrating life for more than 250 years.

This continues today....

Our main Sunday service is at 1030. More information can be found on the Parish Life or Parish Notices page.

It is with some sadness that we have decided to get the churchyard locked to the public at night.
This is because of ongoing anti-social behaviour problems. Services will still take place as advertised, but we may need to unlock the gates on St Matthew's Row for these. Needless to say, this will change some ingrained community habits. Please help us in these changes.

Can you help? We need to raise £30,000 for our Tower Project.
